This is a little late in writing but I actually didn't have time to type in this thing till now.
It was weird though - I saw no one that I knew aside from some anoying prats from the highschool, and my bud Carina of course, there. Met some weird peps and got so many friggin bruises and had my hair pulled out in large clumps but otherwise it was an awesome experiance.
Alright, first up Bleeding Through opened up and started the night off. Pretty cool performance from them, especially since they're pretty hardcore and I had NEVER heard of them before. Very fucking cool. The chick on the keyboards and synth was cute and so was the basiest but thats another story I wont go into.
I pretty much zoned out Hot Water Music though, the second, they're an emo band that you can take or leave and aside from a few catchy tunes I wasn't particulary impressed. I would have much rather prefered if they had opened up for Bleeding Through instead of vice versa. Really they just weren't really worth it and although they crowd response it was nothing compared to BT and AFI =D
AFI took the stage around 10 o'clock or so and I went so fucking crazy taking pictures of Davey it wasn't even funny -_-' I got shots of him jumping off the amps, crowd walking, kneeling, screaming, giving come hither looks oi you name it I got it. I felt like such a shitin fan girl x.X
There were somethings though that majorly fucking ticked me off. Half the crowd didn't know how to fucking mosh right and some were even there just to beat people up. Two dudes in particular were just waiting to grab people and shove 'em to the floor and start beating and wailing on 'em. How do I know? Cutosy of some stupid drunk chick I got shoved into their reach and one of 'em grabed my hair and actually ripped out a handful and the other pinned me by the shoulders and slammed me to the floor. I was so freaking mad. I barely managed to catch and shove the bitch that crashed into me off of me and then I tried to climb back up but the assholes weren't letting either of us get up and so I kinda lost my infamous temper and just started wailing back at 'em. The tallest one (looked like your stereotypical biker) was closest to me and the more eminent threat due to his build so I kinda just fell back on basic self defense and street fighting.
I had landed on the ground and managed to twist myself on my back so I didn't have much leverage or 'oomph' to really fight back to well and basically relied on the fact that my boots (steel toes) would make up for the missing power. That in mind I did the only thing I could think of. Nuts were out, guys always guard there first when facing off with a girl so I kicked out at his knee. Sure enough he twisted and tried to protect his jewls and didn't think I'd aim anywhere else, boy was he so fuckin wrong. I managed to kick his knee out from under him completely. Even over the music and crowd I could here the 'crack' and then his cussing as he toppled over and landed onto the ground with everyone moshing 'roound his fuckin arse. To put it simply I dislocated his left knee, if you've ever had that happen to ya, you know it hurts like a mother fucking son of a bitch. His bud was too busy trying to keep him from getting trampled so I managed to make a break for it.
Heres the bad thing, not five minutes after I was outta there Davey started crowd walking right where I had been!! GAH! I am so pissed it aint funny.
AFI has gotten a bit conceited as well. They would absolutely NOT sign autographs unless you had one of the backstage passes. Asses, they might have caved later but Carina and I said fuck it and left. One last gripe - they played like one of their old songs and everything else was off their new album. As Carina said it best; they are so gonna burn out their fan base that way. The new fans are gonna get tired of the same old crap and the old fans are gonna be alienated.
Despite my bitchin and moaning the night was still awesome and I did enjoy AFI =^_^= all sractches, bruises, bald spots, and sore muscles were well worth it.
Bad incident aside the music was great crowd was awesome and the mosh pits so rocked your arse.
