My time at work today went pretty fast, it seemingly flew by in fact. Well, except those last ten mintues before the second break at 7:30pm, and that was only because I had to go to the restroom and really bad and I thought break was going to be at 7pm.
Even the last hour before it was time to go home flew by. I had a killer day on the sales floor too. A total of five sales, two single sales and three up-sales. Meaning I sold the initial service we were calling to sale (Preferred Customer Program) and a second program on top of that (Credit Defense Platinum Service). Up-sales, or s2’s as we call them, are always harder to get, but the payout is more.
The drive home though was a total bitch. Killer winds out there blowing from 40 to 60mph, temperature is down in the 50’s and 60’s, and I’m driving on the freeway. I had to put the heater on because I was just cold, even with my hoodie on. On top of that, I was fighting the car trying to stay in my lane too. Damn wind was throwing me everywhere. But, despite the hectic drive, made more crazy with the idiot-people who slam on their brakes because the wind bucks their car a bit (like that won’t make it worse) nothing got me down. After all, being a goal buster for today (my goal was 4 sales for the day) and getting 3 s2’s in one day will make any person’s day.
And of course, coming home to see this little cutey curled on my bed and happy to see me really made me smile:

I’m pretty satisfied with my current host, Hostgator, especially since I upgraded my account not that long ago, so I have even more capabilities, but that’s not to say I don’t keep my eyes peeled regardless. It’s really kind of strange how one can hear nothing but good things about a place, and then WHAM!, suddenly every one is jumping ship. Is it because the users are panicking over a goof-up instead of waiting it out or is it that the incident was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back?
It’s for that reason that I tend to frequent a lot of different sites that offer web hosting reviews. I once was at a host that, initially, seemed too good to be true. Sadly, they were. My so-called 98% uptime was more like 98% downtime, I got double-billed, and then I couldn’t even really talk about the experiance at a message board, that I frequented, for advice because the owners of the hosting service started stalking me. I was ever so glad to move.
After that, I learned my lesson. Read the reviews, you’ll find all the complaints, you’ll hear the compliments as well. You’ll get an idea of how the system works and how the people are before you even purchase anything. That’s the good part.
My reason for continuing to check and keep up to date is simple, I never know when something might go belly up. I like having an idea of what different hosts have to offer and WebHostingGeeks.com makes it fairly easy to find what you want to know about various hosts. They offer up their own “Top 10″ list, as well as list the various webhosts by “best in category” as well. This allows you to find the web host you want that offers the best service in an area of particular interest to you. For example, looking for a good blog host? According to WHG.com, the best blog host is Bluehost.com. They back this up with stats, monitoring information and a bunch of other pertinent information. But most importantly, you can find real customer reviews too. Those always show you what can be hidden behind a stylish design and fancy statistics.

Ever since the week before the national elections, I have been waking up to the sound of gunfire. After elections and it was revealed that we were now stuck with a democratic president and many democrats had taken the senate, the gunfire got worse. Now I come home and here guns popping in the distance, all evening long I can hear them. Then when I wake up in the morning, I hear them again.
It’s actually kind of scary because an unstopped bullet can be carried great distances by air currents. This of course makes me wonder what the hell they’re aiming at and if I’m going to get hit someday walking to my car.
I’m not against folks firing their weapons and enjoying them while they can before the new democrat-lead rule starts going crazy on the gun-control laws again. But shesh, this is a bit overkill folks.

Ah, my weekend is drawing to a close. I have to go to work tomorrow, granted it’s in the evening, but still. My free time is ending. *sniffles*
I don’t think I like this going in at 4pm and getting out at 9:30pm business. We get on 15 minute break at 6:45pm and then you’re stuck in that chair until the end. It wouldn’t be so bad, if I wasn’t stuck, essentially, talking for three hours. My moth gets so dry and I literally go through a bottle of water/tea in that period.
There’s one girl I work with, she’s started dieting, despite not needing to, and she worries me. She pops some sort of diet pill when the shift starts, drinks nothing but water or this herbal stuff, and then complains about the weight she’s gaining from sitting there all day. I honestly can’t see an ounce of extra fat on her either. At break she doesn’t eat anymore, because she’s “gaining weight”, really it’s quite scary. I’m waiting for the day she passes out on the sales floor from lack of proper diet.
I really love those Lipton and Crystal Light tea to go things though. I’d get sick to my stomach if I was drinking that much water every day, but with these suckers, I just tear open a little packet, drop it in the water bottle, shake well, and instant-tea. The Raspberry green tea is awesome, but my favorite remains the peach, of course. I was actually afraid to try them at first, but there was a website where I could sign up for free samples and I got them to try. Awesome little buggers they are.
